A Prayer for Your Marriage

Father, thank You for the gift and responsibility of marriage.

Help us love one another with more than good intentions. Teach us to listen without preparing a defense and to speak honestly without using truth as a weapon.

Where routines have made us distant, help us reconnect. Where conflict has become repetitive, show us the deeper issues we need to address.

Give us humility to apologize without excuses and grace to forgive without keeping score. Protect our marriage from secrecy, contempt, unhealthy comparison, and the slow neglect that can grow when life becomes busy.

Help us make room for friendship, affection, prayer, laughter, and meaningful conversation.

Give us wisdom with money, parenting, work, extended family, intimacy, and the responsibilities we share.

If our marriage is under serious strain, lead us toward trustworthy pastoral, professional, or counseling support. Give us courage to seek help early.

For anyone in an abusive or unsafe relationship, provide protection, wise support, and a path toward safety.

Shape our marriage into a relationship marked by truth, faithfulness, kindness, and grace.
