Father, our family needs Your help with forgiveness.
We carry memories, disappointments, misunderstandings, and words that are difficult to forget. Some hurts are small but repeated; others changed relationships for years.
Give us courage to tell the truth about what happened without exaggerating, minimizing, or using the past to punish one another.
Help those who have caused harm to take responsibility sincerely. Help those who have been hurt find freedom from bitterness without being pressured into unsafe or dishonest reconciliation.
Teach us that forgiveness is not pretending something was acceptable. Give us wisdom about boundaries, consequences, trust, and the time healing may require.
Where apologies are needed, make us humble enough to offer them without excuses. Where grace is possible, help us receive it.
Break patterns of silence, resentment, gossip, and blame that pass from one generation to the next.
Let our family become healthier not because we hide conflict, but because we learn how to face it with truth and mercy.
Begin that work in me.
